Q: How does ISM get a job started?
A: ISM begins a job by listening to you tell us the specific details.
Next, we review the prints or designs you've created and we provide time
and cost estimates. ISM prefers to receive the job estimates, details
and prints electronically to reduce cycle time required to manufacture
parts.
Q: How precise is your machining equipment?
A: ISM's computerized numerical milling equipment is capable of holding
tolerances of .0008 inches and repeatability to .0004 inches. The quality
control system used for inspecting the parts and equipment we create is
based on 10CFR21.
Q: What about obtaining the materials
needed to build the part or device I need?
A: ISM keeps a large selection of materials in stock including metal/plastic.
We also have accounts with many vendors and we often get good rates because
of our buying volume.
Q: Who handles transportation and assembly
of parts?
A: The staff at ISM will transport and assemble the finished product on
site at your location. Per your request, we can pick up and deliver parts
or pieces of equipment for repair or modification.
Q: What kinds of materials can you weld?
A: ISM is experienced with all types of materials including CF and HF
steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium
and finished-cast products.
Q: What about Small Orders?
A: ISM appreciates your order regardless of size. ISM specializes in custom
orders and prototypes including quality short & long run projects
and emergency work. We also have the ability to move from prototype to
production quickly.
Q: Industrial Sales & Mfg. Inc. has
been in the very competitive "machine shop" industry for many
years. To what do you attribute your longevity?
A: There are four Business Principles dating back to Jim Rutkowski Sr.,
which we adhere to:
- Treat your customers with the utmost respect,
and recognize their value to the company everyday.
- Constantly strive to diversify your customer
portfolio. Never let a single customer constitute more than 20% of your
revenue stream.
- Reinvest on a consistent basis in your
plant, property and equipment, so that you can bring the most cost effective
and efficient service portfolio to your customers.
- Invest in your employees. Build a creative
work environment which encourages skills enhancement, training, and learning
for life.
Q: Many machine shops seem to be exclusively
focused on the transportation industry. However Industrial Sales &
Mfg. Inc. seems involved in a wide variety of machining and technology
ventures. What are some of the other industries you serve?
A: We provide a very comprehensive services
and facilities portfolio to industries such as:
