Employer Recognition at Industrial Sales
and Mfg., Inc.
On 21 December, 2005, members of the 1-112IN
(SBCT) recognized Industrial Sales and Manufacturing, Inc. of Erie, PA
for their support of the National Guard. Cadet Ronald Geer, a member of
the unit and an employee of the company, nominated his employer for the
Employer Support of Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award.
This is the first in a series of employer awards that show employers appreciation
for their contributions to their Guard employees, the state, and the nation.
Assisting in the presentation was Mr. Jack Pfadt, regional representative
for ESGR and Major Timothy J. Foor, Sr., Executive Officer for the 1-112th
Infantry Battalion.
Receiving the award was the President and
founder of Industrial Sales and Manufacturing, Inc., Mr. James J. Rutkowski,
Sr. Industrial Sales and Manufacturing, Inc. is an Erie based, family
owned and operated business, located at 2906 West 12th Street. The company
is a supplier and manufacturer of quality machined, fabricated and assembled
components for a wide variety of industrial and other markets. All of
the companys employees were in attendance as well as other company
officials and family members including; Mr. Jim Rutkowski, Jr., General
Manager, Mr. Charlie Rutkowski, Plant Manager, and Mrs. Ann Marx, Finance
Manager.
Also in attendance was Mr. Jack Pfadt.
Mr. Pfadt is the Lake District Chairman for the ESGR program. ESGR is
a Department of Defense organization. It is a staff group within the Office
of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs (ASD/RA), which
is in itself a part of the Office of the Secretary of Defense. ESGR was
established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve
component members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution
of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. Their mission
is to gain and maintain active support from all public and private employers
for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve. ESGR sponsors
awards programs, such as this one, that are designed to recognize employers
for employment policies and practices that are supportive of their employees'
participation in the National Guard and Reserve. All employer recognition
and awards originate from nominations by individual Reserve component
members, such as Cadet Geer.
